Undoubtedly one of the most severe cases of dental wear in a very young patient that I´ve ever seen. There was huge loss of tooth structure from a combination of bruxism ( grinding your teeth at night ) and drinking large amounts of Coca-Cola for years (acid erosion).
It was a perfect storm scenarium. Notice not only the shortening of the teeth with the loss of vertical dimension, but also the abrasions on the lateral surface of teeth. Doing nothing was not an option and in order to address this case we had to do a Full Mouth Rehabilitation. Thanks to Ceramic Adhesion Techniques we were able to fully rehabilitate the teeth, adding on ceramic replacing the tooth structure lost with Ceramic Veneers, Crowns and Overlays.
This patient now has a smile that is appropriate to his age, of which he is proud of, and that gave him the confidence to smile again without constraints.
At the end of treatment a Night-guard is mandatory to protect the teeth and ceramic from grinding that will for sure continue to happen.
