Types of Dental Veneers<\/h2>\n
When we talk about Dental Veneers we can be talking about very different things:<\/p>\n
Composite Veneers versus Porcelain or Ceramic Veneers.<\/strong><\/p>\n
Composite Veneers will always have a cheaper price than Ceramic Veneers.They are made from the same material we do fillings with, the composite.<\/p>\n
They do not require impressions and are done in a single session.<\/p>\n
I rarely use them as the only advantage they have is their price, however, if we want Dental Aesthetics and longevity, the results can leave a lot to be desired…<\/p>\n
As disadvantages we have<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

- The aesthetic result is poorer than with ceramic veneers.<\/li>\n
- Over time, composite will change color and stain, as the composite is not color stable.<\/li>\n
- They are more fragile than ceramic ones, therefore less durable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
When you do an Aesthetics treatment it has to be perfect, it is better to postpone the treatment or cover fewer teeth and use Ceramic Veneers associated with Teeth Whitening than to use Composite Veneers.<\/p>\n

Ceramic or Porcelain Dental Veneers<\/h2>\n
These two terms can be used interchangeably as they mean the same thing.<\/p>\n
In terms of Dental Aesthetics we always want the perfect result<\/strong> and this is only achieved using Ceramic Veneers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
The Veneers are made by a Ceramist, specialist in Dental Aesthetics (an artist) who will create, over many hours of work, the fine ceramic structures that, after being glued to the tooth by the Cosmetic Dentist, will create the Perfect Smile.<\/p>\n

<\/a>Ceramic or Porcelain Veneers<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n The Process for Placing Ceramic Veneers<\/h2>\n
It usually requires 3 appointments:<\/p>\n
An initial one<\/strong> in which the first impressions are made (for the temporaries).<\/p>\n
The second one<\/strong>, approximately 2 weeks later, in which the teeth are prepared (minimum prep is done, if necessary), the final impressions are made and the temporary composite veneers are placed (already with the shape of the final ones).<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\nThird appointment<\/strong>, after about 1 month, for placement of the ceramic veneers. The price of Porcelain or Ceramic Dental Veneers <\/strong>varies depending on the number of teeth involved and the type of ceramic used.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\nTo reduce the total cost of the treatment to fit the patient budget, I often associate Teeth Whitening to be able to reduce the number of veneers, achieving good results at a lower cost.<\/p>\n
I can, for example, use only two veneers on the central incisors and bleach the remaining teeth. This procedure is called the Mini Smile Lift\u00a0 (see photos of an example case) <\/a>Another possibility is to include the 4 incisors ( or these and the canines) and Teeth Whitening in the remaining teeth case (see example)<\/a> In a more extensive version, the Smile Lift, all teeth visible are covered (from 2nd Premolar to 2nd Premolar). It’s a treatment that will rejuvenate your smile for years to come.<\/p>\n
Besides rejuvenating it deals with a number of other issues ( gaps between teeth, intrinsic stains, tooth alignment without braces, etc).<\/p>\n
Requires minimal tooth preparation.Extremely natural results.<\/p>\n
