A very young patient came to us after finishing orthodontic treatment, to improve the aesthetics of the smile and to get an opinion on what to do with the milky upper right incisor she still had.
Upon observation, we found:
- Poor dental aesthetics with a prematurely aged smile with yellow teeth, increased transparency of the incisor edge of the teeth, and disharmony of his shape.
- Agenesis of the upper right lateral incisor with the maintenance of the milk tooth that had a very short root.
In this case, replacing the baby tooth with an implant was not the indicated treatment, as the space was too short and there would be an increased risk of peri-implant bone resorption, which, in the case of a young patient with a gummy smile, would be a catastrophe at the aesthetic level.
We solve the case as follows:
- Teeth whitening.
- Gingivoplasty to increase the canine clinical crown.
- Ceramic Adhesive Bridge from the canine to the right central incisor (after extraction of the milk teeth).
- Ceramic veneers on the left central and lateral incisors and on the left canine.
The result was spectacular, and the patient was delighted with her new smile, completely in keeping with her age.
We asked her how she had experienced this transformation:
